white lie and the new york public library

confession no. 22
when i was living in new york i kept up my square habit of going to the library. one day there was some event for children...long story short: they were handing out these t-shirts to all the children who participated in this reading event.

i don't have any children and with no genie in a bottle in sight...i had no choice but to (and according to harry g. frankurt's essay on bullshit*) ...to be creative and provide a deceptive misrepresentation:
(said with sad face and sad eyes)
"is it possible to have one for my son who is at home sick??" **

yeppers got the t-shirt. and i think it is super cool...everyone may have this t-shirt:
but it is only josh, megan, makayla, little aidan and me who have the above t-shirt.

**if i had a son and he was at home sick, i swear i would have done the exact same thing! ;)

les cabas

one of each or all three...

not even close...

to being half as cool as this super-star-kid!!! and bien sûr she is french...maybe i should start taking fashion advice from her? wink.

oh these bowls...

aren't they lovely?

the more i have, the more i want...(f)

i want the jacket, the long hair, maybe the jeans and it would be cool to be in nyc now...(list for tuesday...)
